Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do about food?

All food for dogs staying for 7 days or less must be provided PRE-BAGGED meals for their pets per meal (example: breakfast in one bag, dinner in another). Canned and wet food does not need to be pre-bagged. Pets boarding for more than 7 days do not need to have pre-bagged food. Customers who do not bring pre-bagged food could incur a charge up to $5.00 per day per pet. We have moved to this policy due to the large number of dogs with allergies to foods in order to prevent cross contamination with scoops. Please bring enough food to last for the duration of your pets stay, in the manner stated above. It is recommend that an additional days food be supplied in case you have an emergency - tires go flat and planes get delayed. Additional fees are assessed to cover food costs. If you do not provide food for your pet, we will feed them Life's Abundance All Stage Dry Dog Food which contains chicken products. Unless your dog has a food allergy, you do not need to bring treats. We supply Life's Abundance Training Treats. For more information, go to www.lifesabundance.com/alittlepetinn.

What vaccinations are required?

The required vaccinations are DA2P, Rabies, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza (see Boarding and Playcare tab for details)

Does my dog need to be spayed/neutered?

Dogs wishing to stay with us must be spayed or neutered. (Unaltered dogs destabilize the pack, and are at greater risk for injury by other dogs).

My dog has tummy troubles. Can he still come?

All guests must be in a good condition of health (no coughing, vomiting, diarrhea 48 hours prior to arrival at the facility).

Do you require proof of flea and tick treatment?

Yes, and all guests must be free of parasites (fleas and tics). Dogs are inspected upon entry into the facility. If parasites are found, they will be flea bathed and dipped at an additional cost to you.

Do I need to bring a leash and collar?

All dogs must be brought in and out of the facility on a collar and leash. It is preferred that the leash be fixed and non-retractable for safety. We have an outside area for potty, but some dogs need an extended walk on grass to be comfortable. Also, if your dog suffers from seperation anxiety, we have found that if they can inspect the outside of the facility, they relax.

Do you accept dogs that don't do well in groups?

We cannot accept aggressive or anti-social aggressive dogs.

How old must my dog be?

All guests must be a minimum of six months old and spayed or neutered.

What can else can I bring?

Each dog is allowed one small blanket or bed for overnight stay. Please do not bring large beds or blankets, or multiple toys.
